Coming off the success of his 2022 album Living Sacrifice, Detroit’s own Detroit YB delivers his most introspective and transformative body of work yet — Losses 2 Lessons — arriving October 3, 2025 on Hustle By Any Means Records.

After experiencing a year of deep personal loss and emotional struggle, 2023 marked a turning point for the Detroit emcee. YB faced heartbreak, creative burnout, and the tragic passing of his close friend and collaborator OneWay Monte. The two had spent countless nights recording together, building a project that was suddenly left unfinished.

In a moment of reflection and strength, YB completed and released “Forever Soulo” at the end of 2023 — a joint track with Monte that reignited his purpose and set the stage for Losses 2 Lessons.

The Sound of Survival

Losses 2 Lessons stands as a 17-track collection (including 4 interludes) that encapsulates YB’s spiritual awakening, emotional healing, and renewed purpose. The project was mixed and mastered by Detroit YB and KFP Ken, and features production from an elite lineup including Jaylon the Producer, BackEnd Yen, LeunammE, DB the Plug Beats, Kid Hazel, KB Beats, and Petrofsky Beats.

Guest appearances include Fenesse the World, Phenell, and Deeg Simmons, who each bring their own energy to the project’s heartfelt narrative.

In 2024, YB gave fans a glimpse of what was to come with the singles “Home Run,” “Adopted Pain,” and “Thinking Bout U,” each offering raw emotion and reflective lyricism that paved the way for the album’s release.
