WHO IS DETROIT YB
Detroit YB is a rapper, entrepreneur, and independent artist from Detroit, MI. Raised on the east side of the city, YB's creative journey began in 5th grade, sketching people and making humorous memes long before they became popular. Music became a deeper form of expression after the passing of his stepfather, a talented drummer, which led him to start rapping as a way to cope. Initially part of the group "Lyrical Militia," Detroit YB eventually chose to focus on a solo career. His passion for music caught the attention of Roc Nation, where he learned the business side of the industry.
A strong believer in independence, Detroit YB owns all his music copyrights and masters through his label, "Hustle By Any Means Records." With a catalog that includes an album, 3 EPs, and 12 singles, he continues to rise in the music scene while maintaining creative control. In addition to his music career, YB founded the apparel brand DYOR (Do Your Own Research), which promotes empowerment and health awareness. His mission is to encourage others to pursue their vision relentlessly, no matter the challenges. Detroit YB's journey is a testament to hard work, self-reliance, and turning vision into reality.
